"After", foam installation, Vienna, Austria, june 27th, 2014
Tal Isaac Hadad presents "After", a Foam installation piece for Performative Screenings #27 at School, Vienna, Austria, curated by Andrea Lumplecker and Yasmina Haddad.
"Piano préparé", piano & heavy/boxing bag, "If you are so smart, why ain't you rich?" Official Parallel Project of the Marrakech Biennale 2014.
Tal Isaac Hadad presents ‘piano préparé’ (prepared piano), an installation piece, which aims to associate two distinct practices: boxing and piano playing. The sculpture reflects upon the kinesthetic experience formulated by Kurtág’s ‘Játékok’, the body as a form of intelligence, incorporating the body through music, and music through the body. Here, the sculpture position the body in a different role in order to generate and/or express musical ideas. The piano is constrained with the attribute of the heavy bag used for boxing training. The piece takes the contemporary musical tradition of the prepared piano to another era.

"Piano constraints", sculpture & performances, Artinternational, Istanbul
15-18 Sept. 2013. ( photography assisted by Kate Fichard )
Piano Constraints is presented at the amphitheater of Artinternational. From the 15th to the 18th September the public can circulate around the sculptural piece, it may be played with fingers, fists, palm or knukles. An additional programme of three performances will take place with Wilhem Latchoumia on Sunday 15th at 19H00, Monday 16th at 18H30 and Tuesday 17th at 13h00.
Piano Constraints displays modified concert pianos, one reduced to three keys note, the other to six, conceptually suiting the second and fifth movement of the Musica Ricercata (1953) by Ligeti. The writing rule imagined by Ligeti is here reinforced by the form of the instrument. Although this extreme specialization offers new possibilities to be explored by pianists through a repertoire of written piece. A gap between the repertoire and the development of gesture, which conveys memory and hearing, and the very sound of the instrument stems from the keyboard which offers new sound and physical forms of expression.
Tal Isaac Hadad is a French artist, he lives and works in Paris.Tal Isaac Hadad diverts and manipulates sound sources; from their most popular to their most erudite forms. He works on listening experiences, music objects and sound art. In Piano Constraints Tal Isaac Hadad explores the possibilities of an economy of means taken to the extreme. He reverses the traditional proposition of an universal instrument made to interpret any musical repertoire, and presents a piano with only three keys. Here the music score produces the instrument, adapting the movements of Musica Ricercata in a sculpture.
Wilhem Latchoumia interprets a programme focused on gestures and constraints, with a selection of works for solo piano by Gyorgi Ligeti, Gyorgi Kurtag and Philippe Regana. Born in Lyon in 1974, Wilhem Latchoumia performs regularly in recitals, in concertos and in chamber music concerts. He has played as a soloist conducted by Gilbert Amy, Peter Csaba, Fabrice Pierre with the Rostow Symphony orchestra conducted by Andrei Galanov and with the Seoul and Daejean philharmonic orchestras. Wilhem Latchoumia has recorded two discs: Piano and Electronic Sounds and Impressoes.

"G.G.G (God's great grandson)", Interview, speakers, vertical garden, selections of Jamaican and tropical plants , 2013. ( photography: Hugo Deniau )
"G.G.G (God's great grandson)" Presented at Facade of Gaité Lyrique, Paris.
The piece presents an interview-portrait of HIH PrinceYokshan Makonnen, who is the great-grand-son of Haïlé Sélassié, the last emperor of Ethiopia who was designated as a messiah by the Rasta community, since celebrated as Jah Rastafari in the greatest reggae anthem.
This singular testimony is part of a collection of work on “Narratives” expressed through music.
Tal Isaac Hadad diverts and manipulates sound sources from their most popular, to their most erudite forms. His approach often involves an observation of music scenes, or the way in which sound circulates in public spaces.
His research drove him to imagine the first "soundgarden" as a series of sound systems created from Amazonian plants to be implemented in São Paulo's urban center (Soundgarden at Verbo, Galeria Vermelho , Brazil 2009). Special thanks to SAI Prince Yokshan Makonnen.

The writing rule imagined by Ligeti is here rein forced by the form of the instrument. Although this extreme specialization offers new possibilities to be explored by two duo of pianist through two types of repertoire, one classical and the other from contemporary and improvised music. A gap between the blind play repertoire, which conveys memory and hearing, and the very sound of the instrument stems from the keyboard which offers new sound and physical forms of expression.

Work of art? Musical instrument? Piano lipogram?
Tal Isaac Hadad reverses the traditional proposition of an universal
instrument made to interpret any musical repertoire, and presents a piano
with 3 keys. Here it’s the music score which produces the instrument,
adapting the 2nd
movement of Musica Ricercata (1953) by Gyorgi Ligeti.
Tal Isaac Hadad as Gyorgi Ligeti, explores the possibilities of an economy of
means taken to the extreme. The Salon de Musique brings the public within
a contained space holding the intensity of the music, literally described by
its composer as “knife stabbing in the heart of Stalin”.
It gather selections of musical programs on the irst piano of a collection of
11 instruments created according to the 11 movements of the Musica
Ricercata. FIAC 2011, Auditorium du Grand Palais, Paris.
